Who We Are
Great architecture comes from clarity of concept, realised through a disciplined and integrated planning, designing and construction process.
I treat each project as unique. I aim to respond with clarity and originality to a client’s brief in the context of the site and the objectives of approving authorities.
I seek to evolve refined architectural solutions that embrace the planning constraints of the site and employ the most suitable materials to deliver outstanding liveability — natural light, flexible space and a sense of home.
French, raised in Latin America and educated in the United States, I am sensitive to the context in which I operate. I graduated from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and registered with the Order of Architects NSW, Australia (New South Wales Architects Registration Board), and, recently, with the Order of Architects Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, France. While currently living in France, I would like to be able to support customers to help them carry out individual home renovation projects in the region.
During my years in Australia, I founded my own architectural firm in 1991, Cartesia Architects. Working alone, I carry out the design, documentation, obtaining the building permit and monitoring the work. Previously, in architectural offices in Sydney, I was a design architect, notably for a 36-storey tower and another of 13 floors. In the United States, I designed and produced the graphic presentation of major urban projects. In Europe, I was a collaborator at the Taller de Arquitectura Ricardo Bofill in Paris and Barcelona. These were major urban projects.
Recently, I have taken on the challenge to create buildings which impact less on the natural world as possible. Natural building products promotes the health of the building’s occupants while also reducing the negative effects of the construction process on the environment.
